Barrie McDermott

Barrie had a glittering Rugby League career, playing over 400 games in 16 years, scoring 56 tries in total and winning every domestic honour in the game

A Great Britain international representative prop, he played his club rugby at Oldham, Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos, Bramley and Widnes. Barrie later became the Head of Youth Development with his former club, Leeds Rhinos, and regularly appears as a pundit on Sky Sports. In 2006 Barrie was included in the Southstander.com Hall of Fame.
During his glittering career, Barrie played in 2 Grand Finals, 4 Challenge Cup Finals and a World Club Challenge. He won a Grand Final winners ring, a Challenge Cup winner’s medal and a World Club Challenge winner’s medal. Barrie played a total of 283 games for Leeds scoring 40 tries including 1 hat-trick. His International career saw him win 18 caps for Great Britain and 13 caps for Ireland who he represented at the 2000 Rugby League World Cup.
